Barbara Shindell is a psychotherapist, child advocate, forensic evaluator, mother, spiritual seeker, lover of art and music, mediator and collaborator.
Barbara graduated with a Masters in Science and Social Work in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and has been a practicing psychotherapist since that time. She has had a private practice in California and Colorado and works with individuals, couples, families, adults, and children.
Barbara came to Colorado in 2001 and began including forensic evaluations and mediation in her practice, including mediating parenting plans, PRE, PC/DM, and co-parenting education for high conflict families.
Barbara was introduced to collaborative practice in 1999, was trained in 2001, and has been committed ever since. Through her own divorce and practice, the mantra has been “we have to do it better for children and adults.” Barbara served as the co-chair of CCLP in 2008-09. Barbara serves as a coach and child specialist in collaborative divorce.
